This band from Brisbane have been described as enriching, entertaining, extraordinary, energetic and experimental - a remarkable feat and with the restriction of one letter!

Effortlessly mixing classic and modern influences into a pop-savvy, guitar-drenched, beat-heavy brew. Propane's songs slice through a cross-section of music genres to stand their ground on radio, dance floor or concert stage as proven since the Watson brothers started playing music together 11 years ago. depending on the occasion.

"We've done some weird things over the years to get the effects we wanted" quips keyboard player Slade. They've place amps in laundry tubs, used headphones as microphones, recorded vocal's through a 15inch bass speaker, even used the sound of windscreen wipers as a drum loop - this shows the extent the band will go to to capture sounds.

There has been a lot of experimentation over the years to find the Propane sound. The Watson brothers and Phil Slade first met several years ago at Revolution studios when Slade was invited by the brothers to play keyboard on one of their projects. It was then that the three formed a powerful musical alliance, an alliance equipped with Slade's technology and vision, Brendan Watson's song creation wizardry and Luke Watson's rhythmic sixth sense.

Slade (aka "The Reverend") possesses outstanding skill in programming and producing not to mention his talent as one of Brisbane's premier keyboard players. Before his twenty-fifth birthday Slade had already played keys for, produced, mixed and engineered tracks for an impressive array of acts. He continues today to produce albums, compose film scores and tunes on top of his work with Propane.

Brendan is on idea overdrive all the time! "The hardest thing working with Brendan is keeping up with his bank of Steiner School ideas!". No one song is ever written solo, however Brendan's ability to create hypnotic lyrics and soothing melodies is evident in songs such as Mission Control, Yesterday, Easyrider and Fool Today.
Drummer, 'Luka' Watson is a band's vision director and beat master. "Luka has the ability to take a song and inject it with energy". Whether laying down a groove on the congas, pounding a rhythm on his drum kit or programming and sampling loops this 'specialist' can change the entire mood of a crowd. Luka knows how to arrange rhythms, he adds feel to every track whether in the studio or on stage.

Already compared to such innovators as Chemical Brothers, Apollo Four Forty, Faithless, Propellerheads and Beck, the group is on fire with their genre-bending brand of '21st Century techno, drum and bass, rock and pop'.
